I am happy to read that Wireless power is now a possible reality. Think of how great it would be to walk in your room or office and just being in the surrounding location to have your cell phone, blackberry, ipod, etc. to wirelessly charge. From current models and drawings, the device used to transmit this energy voltage looks a little bit scary; consisting of bulky copper coils. But just like anything else, a company such as Powercast will hopefully refine the kinks and make it safe and accessible to household and businesses by late 2008 like promised. I might need a release date tattoo to convince me though.
Another inevitable future concept that seems very promising is harnessing social networking data as we know it to a new level. It is a project by Microsoft called Photosynth (check out the preview). I would definitely recommend watching the astounding prototype demonstration video. Imagine an online environment (demonstrated in the cathedral example) where developers can finally tie in flickr images with comments, tags, detailed information, and exact place of picture taken tied to a pool of people put on a feasible platform. One would be able to “walk” in this mosaic similar to Google Maps Street View on a larger scale. Now this is the future of social networking baby!
