Today, we filmed another 12 hour day for many scenes where I was in a classroom and outside the Southern Atlantic University (fake college in movie). After hair and makeup, the wardrobe department gave me the Gamma Phi Alpha fraternity shirt and were placed on scene with the “seven dorks” that play the main role in the movie. I met the star of “Freaks and Geeks” and “Not another teen movie” Samm Levine. He is just as hilarious as he is on film as he is in real life, that was very exciting.
On the down time, I asked talked to Sara Paxton about how she got started in the career. She said that she started being extras in movies and in small commercials and then she aquired an agent and now she lives in Las Angeles working her way up to get roles. I also asked Samm “So do you ever Google or IMDB yourself and see what comes up?” He laughed and said when “I first started out I used to do that, but not really anymore… I don’t even think of it anymore, it is my job…”
The tall and lengthy guy in the pictures is Jeremy Howard who starred in many roles on TV including “Buffy”, “Entourage” and “Men in Black II”. Danny Strong is also one of the dorks who I met on stage was in many episodes of “Gilmore Girls”.
I love learning about the industry, watching the immense work that goes behind the scenes with the crew and the whole process from start to finish. It took 8 hours of filming for every one minute scene on a movie on average. Holy crap! They made us redue each scene at least 10 times for editing and angle purposes. Also, everyone had to make sure that they were doing the exact same motion everytime, I guess it is easier than I thought to remember the lines in a movie when you are saying the same sentences for hours.
I go back next week to film more in the fraternity house, it looks like a huge studio production. I cannot wait to see it in films! Keep posted!

Joey! It’s great to read about all the cool things you are doing with your time. I was wondering about that movie they were filming at the Pi Kap Frat house at UCF. At least someone is getting some use out of it! Good luck with everything!
